My family is on a cross-country road trip and I have a son who is about to be a sophomore in HS.
Because he is a big into-sports kid but not, ya know, about to get recruited by a Div I football team…we’ve hit numerous college campuses, stadiums, tours, and towns along the way. Some have really surprised us (big shout out to Lubbock & Texas Tech- super cool place, had zero idea)!
Anyway, we find ourselves in Kansas today and he really likes the vibe here. We’ve been through both Lawrence and Manhattan today and taken in as much as you can by walking around for an hour in ~95 degree weather, but personally as a family we know zero about either school. This is our first time in Kansas. We are both southern (obv from my flairs) but live in CO now. We have really enjoyed your beautiful state!
I am super curious about the intangibles at either school from alumni - what’s awesome about the culture, the alumni network, the sports on campus, the vibe- anything? He loves college football so that’s a huge plus.
Also happy to share where else we have been and what we’ve learned on our US tour. It’s been awesome!
(Tagging this as casual because this is definitely off-season content.)
