What’s a Big 12 team that comes to mind where you thought they didn’t do as well as they could have with the talent they had?
I think those mid 2010s Oklahoma State teams tbh. Those was the Mason Rudolph years and I’m ngl they should’ve been in the Big 12 Championship in 2017 which was his final year where he had 4,553 passing yards.
Now they did have three 10-win seasons in a row but fell short of what they could’ve achieved. 2015 they started out 10–0 but got smoked by Baylor and Oklahoma and then we kept the bleeding going for them in the Sugar Bowl. 2016 was the fluke loss to Central Michigan. 2017 was Rudolph’s final year and they went 10–3 which was good but they definitely should’ve been in the Big 12 Championship that year with the offense that they had.
Maybe another is the Bryce Petty Baylor teams. 2013 of course was the best season in school history but they shit the bed against Oklahoma State in Stillwater and that cost them a possible spot in the National Championship Game. They lost 52–42 to UCF in the Fiesta Bowl. 2014 the loss to WVU meant no Playoff and then they blew a 41–21 lead against Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl and lost 42–41. Still good seasons but they missed out on a CFP/NCG appearance.
