I was beyond shocked to find out Parker Posey (a stalwart of American cinema for over 30 years) had only visited Asia for the first time ever in her life to star in “White Lotus”.
I know many productions have taken place in Canada, but that’s not the same thing. To only work in North America for such a long time is such a baffling concept for me.
Maybe this idea is changing only now, due to how many streaming studios there are, wanting to film something different for the consumer or how cheaper it is for productions to film in tax incentive countries like Hungary, Costa Rica or Thailand.
Having said that, I understand that many actors prefer to stay close to home for the sake of their family.
