You know how men will say “if men disappeared, who would protect you women?” Well recent news shows how a woman that rejected a man’s advances was viciously attacked with a brick to her head landing her in the hospital. All bystanders were men and no one stood up and or did anything and let the men get away. A lot of people have pointed that if the crowd had been women, they would’ve done something and I completely agree. Studies have shown that female bystanders are more likely to stand up for both male and female victims while male bystanders were more likely to be resistant. The scary part is men were more likely to ignore a female victim because they thought she must’ve warranted some kind of response from her attacker and that it was justified. The first time I was harassed a woman came to my rescue. I feel much more safe when it’s a group of women around me than a group of men because I know the women will stand up for me and I would 100% do the same. Even if it’s a woman I strongly hate, I have this urge to protect her and if I see her being taken advantage of by a guy I will save her. Women are taught to take care of others before taking care of themselves. We know our experiences as woman better and we only have each other. So women will protect women, not men.
