This question seems to have been asked a lot about film, but I’m curious specifically about television. Given that television directing often includes a rotating team of cast/crew and even guest directors, it seems to me on the surface that some of the criteria for “good directing” in film may not apply in television, since the directors don’t have as much control and have to mostly stay within the bounds and follow the trajectory of the series overall. What, to you, is a sign of good television directing, that may not be the same in film, or vice versa?
