*This is a weekly thread to discuss football in the Big 12. Discussion should be limited to football in the conference.*

Week 3 Results
  • Kansas 34 vs Illinois 23

Kansas looked dominant in the first half and then coasted to the end. Jalon Daniels is a special player, and I hope he can stay healthy the whole year.

  • Baylor 13 vs #12 Utah 20

Well this one hurts about as much as last week. Had zero hopes going in, to then have full blown excitement. Then it all looked suspect before completely falling apart at the end. The missed PI at the end just felt like the cherry on top. I doubt we would’ve won, but I wish refs were blindly consistent. A wire-to-wire loss would’ve hurt much less.

  • #15 Kansas St 42 vs Troy 13

KSU took care of business. Next.

  • BYU 41 vs Southern Utah 16

BYU took care of business. Next.

  • Iowa State 13 vs Iowa 20

El Assico, baby! ISU took a little too long to get going against Iowa. Props for keeping them under 25, though.

  • #18 Oklahoma 28 vs SMU 11

I didn’t watch this one, but this seems closer than it probably should’ve been.

  • West Virginia 56 vs Duquesne 17

WVU took care of business. Next.

  • Cincinnati 27 @ Pitt 21

Road wins are always fun, and they’re especially fun as the underdog.

  • #11 Texas 34 @ #4 Alabama 24

A big win in front of millions of viewers. As stated above: road wins are always fun, and they’re especially fun as the underdog. Texas looked dominant in the first half, but then Alabama came back and took the lead at the end of the third. I started to think, “welp, 'Bama woke up.” However, Texas said enough of that nonsense and regained the lead less than a minute into the fourth and never looked back. If it weren’t for a handful of dropped passes, this game could’ve been a blowout by Texas. Overall a very exciting football game. I selfishly wished it would’ve gone down to the wire, but good job owning the fourth quarter. Nobody should be surprised that Texas has the roster to win this game, but many of us had at least a little doubt that it would happen in Tuscaloosa. What a fantastic football game!

  • Texas Tech 30 vs #13 Oregon 38

I feel like I should just copy/paste what I wrote about our game in this slot too. Tough way to lose a game that you probably expected to lose going in.

  • UCF 18 @ Boise St 16

A typical football final score (\s). A hard-fought win on that abomination of a field. It’s only fitting that a kicker named Colton Boomer should win a game for you.

  • Houston 41 @ Rice 43

I didn’t watch this one, but saw the halftime score and figured Rice had it in the bag. Kudos to Houston for fighting back to make it to OT.

  • TCU 41 vs Nicholls 6

TCU took care of business. Next.

  • Oklahoma St 27 @ Arizona St 15

OSU is no stranger to pitching second half shutouts, but hats off to doing it without Jim Knowles. Looking forward to more of this matchup in the future.

I’m sticking with Kansas State as my pick for the conference champion. KSU beats UT in the CCG.
