Offseason content!
For all the defensive guru’s and enthusiasts or plain old strategy enjoyers. I was wondering if you also caught this last season. There were quite a few low scoring games last season (awesome I know). At first I thought it was a fluke but I looked up the numbers at the end of the season. A brief glance at the ppg averages over the last season, This is the first time since 2006 where only 1 school averaged 40+ ppg (Miami-FL at 42.3). Over the last decade at least 5 a year were able to accomplish this number. So to see 1 last season is pretty significant.
Apparently in 2023 Dennis Dodd wrote an article lightly covering some notable statistical declines from the 2023 season.
So what do you think? Weird anomaly of a season or something caused by other issues and what do you expect from this upcoming season?
Also for the linemen watchers. here’s an O-line article focusing on offensive line quality of late cbssports.com/…/the-offensive-line-crisis-in-coll…
