WE’RE GOING THROUGH EACH P4 TEAM’S SCHEDULE AND PICKING EVERY GAME!

Today we have the Clemson Tigers!

Is Clemson back? After 3 years of missing the 4-team playoff, the Tigers returned to the CFP in 2024 after a miraculous finish in the ACC Championship game. Now, they enter 2025 with a loaded roster and are the clear favorites to win the ACC and return the the playoffs. In the portal era, Dabo has failed to put together the elite rosters he made 4 national championship games with in 5 years, but this is by far his best shot since 2019.

QB Cade Klubnik is back along with 15 other returning starters, 8 on each side of the ball. Some may have expected Klubnik to be this good sooner, but better late than never should be the mantra for Clemson fans this year. The real key is that this should be Clemson’s best group of WRs in a long time, and should add some much needed explosivity to the offense.

I could go on for a while about this defense but lets just say that one of the top defensive coordinators in the country has been gifted an absolutely loaded unit for 2025. I’d need a Clemson insider to help clarify whether the depth is there on this roster, but all I know is that a healthy Clemson can be scary good.

I will note that for an ACC schedule that avoids the top contender in the conference, there’s plenty to stress about on this schedule. I count 5 genuinely losable games, which has a lot to do with the 2 top-half SEC teams they open and close the season with.

I’m going to be honest, I believe Clemson will lose a game in 2025, but I have no idea who it will be to. My best guess was to find a game on this schedule that the Tigers might be a little less sharp for. They’ll be locked in at home against LSU to open the season, so I give them the edge there. I don’t see them losing in Death Valley, so that means it comes down to trips to Georgia Tech, Louisville, and South Carolina.

They certainly wont overlook the Gamecocks in the season finale, and even though that is statistically the most losable game on the schedule at the moment, I’m going to go with the Tigers. The early game in Atlanta will test the composure of this team, but I think they will be far too healthy to get knocked off there, so now we’re taking a serious look at that trip to Louisville in mid-November.

Clemson will be coming off a 2 game home stand and a win over their conference rivals, making this a prime letdown spot against a team ranked in the back half of the top-25. I’m reminded of #10 Notre Dame going to Louisville in 2023 and just being unprepared to play. The Cardinals certainly aren’t going to bully this Clemson team, but they could certainly knock them off if Miller Moss works out for Jeff Brohm.

However you see it going differently, I think most of us can agree that this team should go over their win total if they play to the level of expectation. I like them to get to 11 wins but I think 10 is more likely than 12. Clemson will make the playoff in 2025 and will not be an afterthought this time around.

FINAL: 11-1 (7-1)
