Ever since I finished Andor, I can’t stop thinking about Luthen. The complexity in his character, his motivations, his cunning, his absolute unfiltered dedication to the cause and ultimately his end. Everything was written and acted to perfection and then some.
I am condemned to use the tools of my enemy to defeat them.
How Luthen uses deceit, manipulation, blackmail, sabotage to get what he wants. He uses or you can say inspires innocent common people for the cause through any means necessary.
I burn my decency for someone else’s future.
No decent person will be ready to burn a city full of people if it means they got an acceleration for the cause through the massacre of innocent people. Andor couldn’t. No decent person will kill a man in cold blood who has been helping him for years while putting his life on the line on a daily basis. But Lonnie jung had to go for the cause.
I burn my life to make a sunrise that I know I will never see.
Finally he died in cold, sterile, emotionless room never seeing the sunrise he wanted to make while making sure the rebellion got the headstart it needed for an uprising.
So what do I sacrifice?
Everything.
