The Academy Awards are now voting on the best series to receive Emmy nominations in 2025, but we all know that, as always, the most popular series will win, not the best.
Shogun was the most awarded series in 2024, mostly because people watched it and that’s why it rightfully won its categories, but if it had gone unnoticed, it wouldn’t have even received a nomination. I compare Shogun to Pachinko because of the dubbing and subtitling; they have nothing in common.
Pachinko is an Apple TV+ drama with a great story and characters that finished its second season many months ago and is still in limbo. This post is for you to give it a chance and enjoy something so beautiful and original before they decide to cancel it, as Apple takes its time renewing or canceling it, and I get the impression that Pachinko depends on its awards run.
As a curious fact, Anna Sawai also participates here with a recurring role.
This series hasn’t received the love it deserves.
