I’m on the last episode of “Baby Daddy” again and every time I watch it Riley’s birth bothers me. It’s the most unrealistic one I’ve ever seen on TV. Zoey’s was unrealistic too, but Riley’s was the worst. Throughout the last episode Riley went to the hospital multiple times and then came back saying it was false labor. Then at the end of the episode she’s suddenly in a lot of pain and says the baby is definitely coming. That’s not how it works at all. I know some people have fast labors, but not that fast. From what I’ve seen online most women aren’t in pain the entire labor either. There are breaks between contractions. Some women even take a nap after they reach 10 cm. So Riley being in pain before going to the hospital and leading up to the baby being born only makes sense if she was unknowingly laboring the whole episode and was ready to deliver. Also when someone has a baby it’s not just suddenly coming unless they have a cryptic pregnancy and/or didn’t know they were having contractions. The only logical explanation is that Riley wasn’t experiencing false labor, it was real labor. Every time she thought she was having the baby was just a contraction. Then at the end when she says the baby is really coming would be when she reached 10 cm and her body wanted to push. The writers must not have done any research on labor and delivery. It was the same with Zoey’s birth in the previous season. No labor at all. She was just walking through the park, and then suddenly the baby was coming. They climb into a horse carriage and she pushes the baby out. No mention of contractions in either episode. I love binge watching “Baby Daddy”, but if the writers didn’t know anything about labor and delivery they should have either done some research or come up with a different idea.
