Its about golf. Its a comedy with Owen Wilson as the lead. Its on AppleTv.
All those are good things. Golf for some reason translates really well to screen and has a ton of great movies. It should be easy to do this. And it does start off well.
If you’ve seen it, you know ep 4 is the worst and where most peope have a problem, due to a certain character who adds less than zero to the show.
But it was never good. Besides Wilson and Marc Maron, the other characters, esp the mom and her kid, are despicable, disgusting people.
The mom is rude and selfish, she takes 100k from Oweb Wilson up front to do nothing, she’s a moron who’s rude to everyone she meets (like the banker), can’t respect other people, and thinks they are are slaves when the other 2 guys do all the work. all she literally has to do is control her son and she can’t even do that.
the son, the so called prodigy, is a selfish, arrogant, ungrateful asshole. He thinks he’s some hotshot and as we find out, Pryce was far better, and so will everyone else competing.
and then they added Zero as full time cast member and you can already see all the cliched storylines the writers will have. the ironic thing is she’s supposed to repesent the worst of gen-z and in some ways its true.
the wriitng is dumb, none of the characters are fleshed out or do anything that makes sense. its just trying to add drama and unlikeable characters to try and be cool. Pryce is shown as a moron who’ll pay 100k and take all kinds of abuse from this mom and her son, why?? him and his friend are straight up bein scammed and we’re supposed to like this?
all they had to do was make a show about a washed up pro going back to glory. It worked for Tin Cup and its worked in countless other sports movies.
