25 years ago, TV used to play little brother to Cinema. But now the quality of TV has risen so much that Movie stars are now coming to TV.
Meryl got on the bandwagon early during this Golden Age of Television by starring in Angels in America in 2003 all the way up to Big Little Lies in 2019.
I really loved Tom Hanks in 1883, though it was only one scene. He has executive produced a lot of TV but hasn’t actually featured regularly onscreen ever since Bosom Buddies back in 1982.
Speaking of 1883, Harrison Ford came to star on a TV show recently, with 1923.
Gary Oldman finally came to star regularly on TV with Slow Horses; same with DeNiro with Zero Days.
RDJ recently starred in The Sympathizer and Julia Roberts recently starred in Gaslit.
Wonder if Tom Cruise would be interested in coming to TV.
