I’ll start. Baba O’Reilly is not as good of a hype song as our fans say it is and I feel like people just go along with it because they think they should. It low key sucks actually and doesn’t have a connection with the school. A way better song is played minutes beforehand with “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting” with montages of the team and the theme of it being “it’s Saturday in Athens” so at least there’s a connection attempt and it’s more hype. Georgia is also a huge historically musically significant state so there is plenty of stuff to choose from.

Other team’s pre-kickoff hype songs I’m a fan of, bonus points for school/state connection

LSU: Callin’ Baton Rouge (tie-in with the location)

South Carolina: Sandstorm (actually caused a rally for the team when first played)

Tennessee: Rocky Top. I have to hate it but I get the hype

Florida: Won’t Back Down. Not super hype but at least the lyrics make sense and Tom Petty was from Gainesville

Virginia Tech: Enter Sandman

Any other schools feel the same way about any of their pregame songs? Do any UGA fans agree with me?
