I think we all know about the infamous game between Texas A&M and South Carolina to kickoff the 2014 season.

TAMU was ranked No. 21 and South Carolina was ranked No. 9., with the Aggies winning by a score of 52-28. TAMU QB Kenny Hill threw for 511 yards and 3 TDs, breaking Johnny Manziel’s single-game passing record in the process.

Kenny Hill instantly became the Heisman favorite, and that game artificially inflated the rankings of a whole lot of teams as the year went on. TAMU would finish 8-5 (3-5) and South Carolina finished 7-6 (3-5). Kenny Hill transferred to TCU after the 2014 season.

I feel like the CFB world is having a very similar reaction to Colorado and their win against TCU. I’m not saying Shedeur Sanders or Travis Hunter are not good players and that the team can’t have a grea tyear, but I am saying that I think a lot of people are jumping the gun a bit on the Buffs based on a single game.
