I’m 20 minutes into this new documentary on Netflix about the widespread cover up of sexual abuse of boys by Boy Scout scout masters.

I’m heartbroken, sickened and angry for these poor boys. It’s yet another instance of an organization enabling pedophiles over money and PR. I hate it.

I can’t help think, though, watching a grown man cry over these victims (he’s a lawyer, not a victim) that I wish the sexual assault of girls and women was taken half as seriously. So often men just don’t think it’s a big deal and rape is rarely reported, much less prosecuted, which is why the 30 year sentence Danny Masterson got today was such big news.

There is a HUGE stigma for boys and men who are abused and they suffer lifelong consequences, I get it. But why don’t they realize that’s how women feel, too?

Anyway, sorry if I sound insensitive or like I’m “whatabouting.” I just can’t help but notice the stark contrast as I watch this.
