People have argued, and I was leaning towards agreement, that the only reason why the Beavers game had so many views was that it was on a Sunday with no other competing games. This article shows that the Beavers vs SJSU game had more viewers than the Utah vs Florida game.
Oregon State-San Jose State (CBS, Sunday), 3.23 million
Florida-Utah (ESPN, Thursday), 3.19 million
Maybe it’s because it was being broadcast over local TV so those that don’t have a subscription to ESPN could tune in, but I believe it is still significant.
Clearly I am biased, and perhaps out of touch, but somewhere deep inside I am hoping for some sort of conference offer that is not MWC. I’m hoping that the Beavs will sustain a decent level of viewership during this final season. For those of you that end up with a P12 Network subscription to watch the Buffs, it would be appreciated by all of Beaver Nation if you would tune in to the Beavers. Even if that means you leave the TV running throughout the broadcast while you’re asleep.
