The first two seasons of Kirstie Alley on CHEERS had Sam and Rebecca as the main focus on the series. The minute Sam stopped chasing after Rebecca, it’s as if her character became inconsequential. Yes, she was still neurotic, funny and chasing after rich men, yet she went from a co-lead like Diane was into a supporting character just like Phil, Frasier, Lilith. Even Carla had more screentime in those last years.
Alley was also the sole cast member to not be a guest on Frasier. I wonder if she had problems with the crew or the writers.
