I ran into this when I was watching the underrated and forgotten FX war drama “Over There”, in one episode Bo sees a young girl watching him try to run around a track with his prosthetic leg and the two end up talking and she mentions how her father died in Iraq and after Bo apologizes the girl is all “what are you apologizing for? it wasn’t your fault” and that conversation is when Bo starts learning to stop constantly feeling sorry for himself due to his injury in Iraq. I knew that girl’s actress looked familiar as soon as I saw her and when it got the end credits I was like “I knew it!”, turned out that girl was played by none other then Jeanette McCurdy of iCarly fame. I have to say I was really impressed with how she took what could’ve easily been a cliched and annoying “wise-beyond-their-years kid character who ends up helping out an adult with sage-like wisdom”(Jamie from One Tree Hill suffered from that big time) and really made it memorable and impactful.
Also was surprised to see a young Ryan Reynolds as a jerk jock in the original Sabrina the Teenage Witch TV movie.
