I have never watched a worse show than HBO original series The Idol, created by Sam Levinson, the creator of Euphoria. I was completely invested in the show when I listened to the soundtrack. I completely ignored the negative critical reception thinking it would be a good show. I then watched the series and thought it was utter garbage. Whoever is responsible for the casting definitely didn’t get a raise. My question is that why would you hire several singers, who have basically no acting career, to play lead and support roles. The Weeknd is a key example of this. After this shtshow of a series, HE SHOULD NOT BE ACTING AGAIN. Instead, he was recently in Hurry Up Tomorrow. That performance may have been twice as bad as his performance in this, but both performances are bad. It was like watching prnography, but with an actual plot and descent cinematography. This is one of those shows that I’m so glad it got cancelled. I am never watching it ever again. I do not recommend it at all.
