Via cbr.com Bradley Whitford opens up about his “nerve-racking” character in The Handmaid’s Tale. The actor doesn’t have a high opinion of Commander Joseph Lawrence.

During an appearance at Entertainment Weekly’s Awardist drama actors roundtable, Whitford spoke candidly about his Handmaid’s Tale character. “How can you do those things and remain redeemable?” he said. “As a young actor, I felt like I was trying to narrow it down to what a character was. And with this guy, I got to kind of open up the aperture, which was interesting to me. Also, ethically, it was nerve-racking because he was disappointing often.”
