I can’t help but think of the elaborate lessons that George orchestrates for his children in Arrested Development while watching this amazing classic Care Bears playlist youtube.com/playlist?list=PLV4Ztn9euy7QSfa3KU15zJ….
Arrested Development version: After various lengthy and traumatic staged accidents, the purported victim (the same person every time) announces a benign lesson to George’s children, like, “And that’s why you have to leave a note.”
Care Bears version: After dramatic supernatural trials, like getting temporarily turned into stuffed animals, a Care Bear announces a benign lesson like, “I guess that goes to show I shouldn’t break my promises!”
The seeming lack of self-awareness makes the Care Bears version much funnier. And also… a bit concerning? Is the expectation that the kids watching will learn not to break promises because they’re afraid to get turned into stuffed animals? 😆🤷
