Hey folks, just wanted to share something cool I’ve been testing lately — it’s a new 3D scanner from Revopoint called Trackit, and it’s actually going live on Kickstarter soon (May 28th, 10AM ET if anyone’s interested).
What makes this one stand out (at least to me) is the optical tracking — meaning no more messing around with markers. I used it to scan a tiny 30mm coin I’ve had for years (delicate surface, lots of fine detail), and I was honestly impressed. The scan took just a few seconds and picked up everything — even little scratches I hadn’t noticed before.
I’ve used a few scanners before, and usually for something this small, it’s either slow or loses detail — or both. Trackit felt way smoother and faster. It also uses blue laser, which I think helps with the accuracy, especially on shiny or textured surfaces.
