Original Title: My friend’s dad died, she’s living paycheck to paycheck and got no real credit. This guy she’s been seeing for a couple months paid for her flight back to Zimbabwe, accommodation, footed part of the funeral bill and just took care of her in the last 24 hours. Good men do exist.

I woke up this morning to see a few missed calls from a co-worker and good friend at the office. She needed a ride to the airport as no ubers or other taxi apps were working at 4am in her area (Surrey).

Turns out her dad died suddenly yesterday and she was in a mess. From what I know, she admired the heck out of her father who had saved enough for her to study and live in the UK. She’s not a perm resident so doesn’t have access large credit.

Her sort of boyfriend (just about 10 dates) spent all night with her, paid for her flight, gave her £1000 and was just perfect to her. She left me a VN when on the plane to let me know what’s happened.

This guy isn’t rich, he forked out over £2000 to a girl he just met so that she could be there for family. She said she didn’t even have to ask him.

This probably isn’t the place to share this, but good men do exists and I think we need to recognise and encourage this sort of behavior in men and our sons (well future son).

She’s such a kind innocent woman too, thinks the best of everyone and doesn’t have a cynical bone in her body.

Edit: they ended up getting a taxi to the airport on time.
