    I confess I remain confused as to the actual status of the land.

    Is it “commons” ie owned by all who wish to use it, or is it private land owned by a single individual ?

      As far as I take it (IANAL) it’s all about “access to” and whether you start “dwelling”, on it. A bit like the Gypo’s Travellers do on car parks and shit.

      But then you also have the mad bastard farmers with shotguns who also are a little confused like ourselves, and I feel it’s best left to the brave ones who want to linger too much on someone’s “private property that’s publicly accessible” until the “you’re implied rights of access have been revoked” comes into play.
