We talk so much about those teams with wild and/or rude fanbases. What about those that are always respectful, even in the heat of competition? For the sake of discussion, generally apathetic fanbases ≠ respectful.
I’ve been to USC v. ND in South Bend multiple times and each visit I am caught off guard by the very common “Hello! Welcome to Notre Dame!” from Irish fans on campus, even as I’m decked out head to toe in SC gear (though this unfeeling west-coaster has a suspicion the perceived midwestern “nice” is actually some sort of sick psyop).
