if you missed the post about team yards traveled: reddit.com/…/schefter_thirtytwo_nfl_teams_will_tr… I used this and the international games list to figure things out and give some information. You’ve seen the raw data now for some fun things.
First, Let’s talk fun outliers:
- Seattle travels the most of any team without leaving the continental US
- In total, all 32 teams will travel 625,947 miles this upcoming year.
- Using a Boeing 737 as the baseline, it is about .0123 T of CO2 per mile
The NFL team flights to locations will likely put out about 7,700 Tons of CO2 this season.
- Cleveland and Pittsburgh are both headed to Europe and neither one is in the top 50% of miles traveled
- The AFCN in all will travel the least of any team

So as you can see, The chargers are traveling nearly 2x the average, and really skew the average. Despite making a trip overseas and playing two games there , The Viking travel less than the average. Guess the trip between Cork and London is smaller.

The fact is that the Chargers make up about 1/3 of the ACFW travel is crazy, but what is crazier is that the Dolphins make up the largest percentage of any one division’s travel, putting up slightly more travel among all the AFCE teams than the Chargers do against the AFCW
