I don’t know if this fits here but I needed to vent. I ’m a 18F university student, and yesterday I went on public transit alone for the first time in this new city I moved to for uni to visit the mall and get some skin care stuff I missed and to take a break from socialbevents at my dorm for a while. It was fine and I got everything I needed until I got to my last stop and got off the train.

A guy was behind me on the escalator and had his hand in his pants and his eyes couldn’t focus at all, I got a really bad feeling and there was nobody nearby so I got off really quickly and took the stairs down. I thought it was fine when I didn’t see him again immediately ediantly outside the building but when I crossed the street I saw he was actually behind me there was so few people around but I saw this woman with a kid and I immediantly went to her and he followed me very obviously looking at me the whole time and kind of like hung out at the periphery, it was so fucking weird. He got on a bus that came by and I thought I was just overthinking it but then I looked again and I saw he got off and he was still looking at me and I just panicked the woman asked me what was wrong and I just started crying so hard I could barely explain and her kid was right there. He started very obviously circling around and looking at me and the woman offered to let me get a ride back with her and her mom who was picking her up and yelled at him to leave but he didn’t. Eventually the next bus came by and he got on and didn’t get off that one and I was just so relieved. She let me stay with her for a bit while I calmed down and my entire walk back to the dorms I was just so paranoid.

I’ve never gotten such a bad feeling or been in such a situation in my whole life and I’m totally certain that if I was alone or someone wasn’t around something awful would’ve happened. I just don’t know what I would’ve done if there wasn’t anybody nearby or if I should’ve called the police.
