This happened a while ago but I’m still not sure how to feel about it. When I was around 16, I had a bad sinus infection. I was prescribed strong antibiotics, and I had a pretty adverse reaction, including a nasty yeast infection.
This lead to my first trip to the gynecologist. I’ve never had sex and nothing had enter down there. I tried to use tampons before but failed. So the gynecologist put me on the table and said he needs to examine me on the inside. He pulled out these metal thongs and started going at it. It was one of the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my life, and I immediately started screaming at him to stop. But he didn’t stop. I was screaming from the top of my lungs and kept crying and begging for him to stop. An other doctor heard me scream and try to come in but he sent him out. It went on for a couple minutes and the hole time I was screaming and asking him to just please stop. I wanted to run away but I was paralyzed from the pain. At the end he could not examine me and said I might not have a vagina (I had some more examinations since than and I do have a perfectly normal one). When I left the office I was still crying, and everyone in the waiting room was starting at me because they all heard me scream. It felt horrible.
This was a while ago, and I have not gone to a gynecologist since. To be honest I’m very afraid of the same thing happening. I know he wanted to examine me for medical reason, but it made me feel so powerless, like I was completely disregarded. I have never had sex, and I kinda never want to, party because I never want to feel the same kind of pain again.
I know I had a bad gynecologist because he also gave me the wrong medication and landed me in the ER, but I don’t know if the forceful examination despite the patient begging for it to stop is a standard thing or I just got unlucky. It was such a bad experience that I feel like if it’s common I’ll never be able to go back.
