OK, a comment by a guy I knew about 10 minutes shouldn’t hit me like this did, but omg did it annoy me.

Here’s what happened from my pov.

So, I have a few guys buzzing around, some I’ve told I’m not interested who find new ways to chat to me, some who hit me up late night every now and again and I ignore. I’ve got matches and messages I’ve never looked at. Not to say I’m in demand, but I’ve got options if I am desperate.

So, the main story. Last Monday afternoon I open up an app I haven’t used in months. I pick the closest guy who looked OK and sent a message. He replied right away and we had a little chat. We were both doing nothing so agreed to meet. It was going OK in person. But he did ask how many guys I was talking to, and he seemed a bit off when I said I wasn’t talking to anyone, I just messaged him. I ignored that, because I figured men always have a harder time on apps from what I’ve heard. And like I said I’ve got messages on apps I’ve never even looked at.

Not really sure what happened, we were ha going out, chatting, and he said something about me being desperate. A little but after he asked to make out and I said NO. I asked what he meant. He was like ‘well you’re in your 30s meeting people off apps’. OK, so are you. What do you mean? That’s quite a claim you’ve made… He tried to apologise and say he didn’t mean it, so I asked what he meant? Like I said, we are both in our 30s, and on the same app. And I thought we were just getting to know each other.

Suddenly he says it isn’t going to work out, and oddly, from where we were, I lived in one direction, he lived in the other. I walked, he rode his bike. I started walking home, and be biked passed me, going the long way to his home, so say sorry. Which also pissed me off. There was no need.

He never needed to say it wasn’t going to work out, because from my upset from his comment, we both knew I was 100% done. He just had to get the last word. And he rode the wrong way to make 100% he got the last word as he rode off.

If anyone was desperate it was the guy who got pissy he got turned down and had to lash out and make it my problem. I thought we left this behind in our early 20s.
