*Spoiler alerts for Handmaid’s Tale and Andor*
I’ve been loving recent plotlines of villain romance, like Serena Joy and Commander Wharton in the Handmaid’s Tale, and Dedre Meero and Syril Karn in Andor.
There’s something so tender in it, so humanizing. It feels partly like a shift away from simplistic storytelling where villains are villains and good guys are good guys. Yet, these villains are still, undoubtedly, villains. Whatever you want to call it, I call it good television.
