The Draft starts in a few hours so I just wanted to highlight a little known rule; the Salata Rule which prohibits teams from passing to get the final pick in the draft.
This may seem like an odd rule but back in 1976 former player Paul Salata created the Mr. Irrelevant Award for the last pick in the draft. Along with the award, Mr. Irrelevant was also gifted a weeks vacation for him and his family at Newport Beach, CA. The award gained popularity quickly and by the 1979 draft teams wanted the publicity of getting Mr. Irrelevant.
During the 1979 draft the Rams had the 3rd to last pick and decided to pass to the Cowboys, after the Cowboys pick the Rams passed to the Steelers. The Steelers then decided to pass back to the Rams who passed again to the Steelers. This back and forth went on until Commissioner Rozelle stepped in and forced the Rams to pick first giving the Steelers the last pick.
