They removed my IUD at the same time. I also had an endometrial ablation where they burn off the lining of your uterus. So I haven’t had a period or a cramp at all the whole time. Haven’t worried about getting pregnant for even a second. My boyfriend and I never use condoms, don’t even own them. And I never have to take birth control in any form ever again!!!

I’ve always known I never want kids. This is a permanent sterilization procedure. The surgery was sooo easy - I took 3 total days off of work including surgery day. Felt sore for the first 2 days, like someone punched me in the gut. But that was the worst it ever got. I had my ACL reconstructed a few years ago and this was like a spa day compared to that. I would do it again tomorrow if I had to. It has overall significantly improved my quality of life in so many ways.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I am not a doctor. Medical procedures affect people differently, so my experience will not necessarily be your experience. Talk to your doctor about this if you’re thinking about it.
