I’d been seeing so many rave reviews and press for The Pitt, getting praised as one of the best shows on TV right now.

After seeing nearly the entire first season, it’s entertaining and gets me to keep watching sure — but in the same way that I binged Law & Order episodes. Nothing about it feels like groundbreaking television with compelling narratives and characters that we’ve become accustomed to in the modern era of TV. In short, it feels like a standard (though high quality) medicine soap opera. House felt more interesting in its hey day than this.

Does anyone else feel the same? I’m just trying to understand the hype and critical acclaim for what feels like another ER / NCIS / Law & Order type of show.
