Today, I (30f) let my husband (34m) know that I was planning on going out with a few friends from work this coming weekend, 3 days from now. He checked our shared calendar to see if we had any plans (we don’t) and asked where we’re going and I told him a bar in our downtown city. I told him this about an hour ago and since then he’s been super quiet and just scrolling on his phone, not talking to me at all and I can tell something is up. I asked him what’s wrong and he goes “you gave me new information and I’m processing it.”
It just feels so weird to me that when I ran this by him it put him in a sour mood. And it’s not like I got out every weekend and leave him be all the time. This is honestly the first time in a long time I’m planning on going out and the first time with this particular group of friends.
Idk I just wanted to share this as I feel like no matter how I ask or let him know what my plans are without him, I feel like it’s never the right time or I get reactions like this.
