I’ll start with two thematically similar scenarios from Breaking Bad and Mr. Robot . . . spoilers below for the fourth seasons of both shows.

First, from Breaking Bad, what if Jesse didn’t confront Walt in “End Times” after realizing the ricin cigarette was missing? I don’t remember the specific details of the episode, but maybe Jesse concluded Walt was responsible for Brock’s illness, but he couldn’t go see Walt. Maybe he decided to be with Andrea at the hospital. Without Walt manipulating Jesse and with Gus finally getting someone to pull the trigger, Walt dies and Jesse is okay with it, so Jesse continues working with Gus. I imagine the rest of the show being centered on Jesse’s rise in Gus’ empire and Mike taking over Walt’s mentorship role in Jesse’s life. I would argue nearly everyone is better off in this scenario compared to what actually happened.

Second, from Mr. Robot (again, season 4 spoiler here), what if Krista didn’t kill Vera in “407 Proxy Authentication Required?” I think Vera could manipulate Elliott into working together, even if it was an uneasy alliance. Maybe Elliott would be willing to use his tech skills to help Vera out here and there. To reciprocate, Vera provides Elliott some violent allies against the Dark Army. Maybe they could take down White Rose in a different way.
