I used playoff predictors to construct the season for the Big Ten and I contemplated this scenario for 4, 1-loss teams.
- Ohio State 11-1 (Loss to Michigan)
- Michigan 11-1 (Loss to Penn State)
- Penn State 11-1 (Loss to Ohio State)
- Wisconsin 11-1 (Loss to Ohio State)
I don’t think this result could be totally out of the question. The only tough game outside of Ohio state for Wisconsin is Iowa.
Under tiebreakers rules, I believe Ohio state would go to the Champ game as they played Wisconsin, which is step 5 under the tiebreaker protocol where the 3 tied teams non-divisional opponents records are compared. Ohio state wins given Wisconsin is 11-1. That could change given Penn State plays Iowa. But the 11-1 record would be too much.
What does everyone think of this scenario. Is it possible?
