This might be a weird question. I grew up in Florida, went to USF, and while I am primarily an NYG fan, I generally enjoy watching any of the second-teir Florida schools on Saturdays: USF, UCF, FAU etc.

I have lived in New York for almost 15 years now, and have recently settled about 90 minutes north of the city, only 20 minutes away from West Point.

At a family function I was talking college ball with my wife’s uncle who is local to the area and asked who he supported and he said “the only local team, Army!” and it was the first time I really thought about them as a Hudson Valley team.

I think it would be cool to go to a game at West Point, but regarding more consistent fandom, is that a weird thing to do - latch on to team associated with a group which I am in every way an outsider? Because it’s army, it feels more weird than say, rooting for a local college which I did not attend.
