So I work in customer service. Our bathrooms are for men or women, it’s a room with a toilet and a sink and the door locks. So no big deal. I thought.
I’ve been at my job less than a year and walked in on men that apparently are incapable of locking a door 3 times. 2 of those were in the last week.
The first time I walked in and a guy was sitting on the toilet. That was months ago and a coworker said “you have to knock around here”. So since then I have been. I knock 3x, wait, then go in. No more incidents.
Then last week, knock, wait, walked in and a guy is standing there peeing and he looks at me and laughs. So I started knocking harder. Then I walk in on a dude sitting on the toilet. Like lock the damn door, it’s a deadbolt and it works, or at least say something when someone knocks. Jeez. And I’m positive they hear me knock.
I’m fed up. I pee alot because I drink alot of water. Luckily I haven’t seen anything but I’m getting to the point that I’m worrying about using the bathrooms. I don’t wanna see some dudes stuff.
I feel like I’m between a rock and a hard place. It’s at my job so I can’t be like “Lock the damn door!” But I can’t just not use the bathroom for 8 hrs. Honestly they might not care about privacy but I don’t want to see it.
And I feel like the guy that laughed did it intentionally. Which pisses me off more.
Idk what to do. Am I overreacting?
