Me and my partner were talking about a woman in my area who had been attacked. His response on how he would have gotten out of it weirded me out a bit. So I gave him a scenario I have actually lived.

The scenario: walking home at 2am in the city centre youre about 15 minutes away your phones dead because your an idiot. Two grown (large) men started following me and trying to chat me up. I stopped walking, they carried on and stopped 10 meters in front of me and just watched me. No body else in the area other then one man sitting on the side on his phone about 50 meters away. Where you are is lit up, but the area you are going is dark. What would you do if you were 19 year old me in that scenario?

He said he would fight them and started giving instructions on elbowing and using my nails. His hobby is fighting so I reminded him that it wasn’t him in that scenario, it was me. He carried on about how I needed to fight, no one is coming to save you and that I need to be ready.

I didnt do that. I actually went and sat and chatted with the man on his phone for 10 minutes and asked him to walk me home.

My partner was so confident in himself and was stressed when I told him what I did. I know it worked that time but in the future should I be more aggressive if it were to happen again? But at the same time, what if they were prepared to fight me, they could fuck me up if they wanted to?
