I’m not talking about something like Avatar, which was pretty clearly an epic story from the jump.
Some examples here would be Amphibia, Adventure Time, or Gravity Falls. I won’t spoil anything but they all started off looking like cute little episodic cartoons and then… well shit goes crazy.
I’m very curious as to why this is such a common trope. I love it, don’t get me wrong, but it’s all over the place. What is your take on these kind of shows? What other suggestions do you have on shows with similar trajectories?
