Jumping the shark usually means a show has become too ridiculous and therefore worse. What shows become better after they jumped the shark? My example would be Community, most of the first two seasons are pretty rooted in day to day comedy of going to a community college. But after the paintball episode, the universe really expands to include the possibility of extreme rediculousness in this reality. Which makes the show a masterpiece.
