In the 2015 season AB had 1,834 yards and averaged 114.6 ypg but this could have been even more if Ben didn’t get hurt from weeks 4-7.
Before Ben’s injury AB had 436 yards in the first 3 games. All 3 games well over 100+ yards (145 average). Ben got hurt in the week 3 game and AB didn’t catch a single pass for the remainder of the game with Vick taking over.
Over the next 3 games Vick was the starting QB. In the first 2 games with AB had 87 yards. In the third game Vick played one half of a full game before getting hurt in the middle of the third. AB had 1 catch for -2 yards before Vick got hurt and Landry Jones replaced him. AB finished that game with 24 yards. In the following game with Landry as the starting QB AB had 124 yards. Big Ben then returned for the rest of the season.
If you just remove the 3 games without Vick as the starting QB AB had 1,723 yards for a 132 ypg average in 13 games (Megatron in 2012 had 122.8 ypg). Extrapolate that to 16 games and AB finishes the season with 2,120 yards.
Ben’s injury combined with Pittsburgh making the wrong decision to start Vick over Landry (low sample size but AB had 100+ yards each in the 2 full games Landry started in his career that AB was available to play) and Vick being unfathomably washed as a passer is the only reason why AB didn’t finish that season with 2k yards.
