For me — and hopefully this was addressed with our coaching change — it’s imperative for ASU to cut way, way down on the penalties.
We’ve been #3 in the country in penalty ypg and top-20 in total penalties for the last 2 years in a row. The pre-snap, back-to-back false starts and substitution penalties every week were especially tough to watch. There was no accountability from anybody. At all.
If all the stars align, I have our ceiling at 6 wins this year (3 win improvement over ‘22). That’s a successful year 1 for Dilly. But it won’t happen without a 180° turnaround in basic discipline.
What about you? Do you need to be better at converting in the red zone? Getting off the field on defense on 3rd downs? Limiting turnovers?
