When I list the TV shows I like, I find that they are almost always tied to a particular place (that often but not exclusively has a ‘small town’ feel): shows like True Detective (Louisianna), Deadwood (South Dakota), Twin Peaks (PNW), Better Call Saul (Albuquerque)
What other shows are like this that you would recommend? Ideally the locale would be a smaller place rather than a big city like NYC or LA or DC, but I’m in principle open to all suggestions.
I guess another way to put what I’m trying to say is that I really value realism (both geographical and in general) in TV shows. I like the experience of watching a TV show & pausing to look up the place names mentioned, I like it when realistic local accents are used, etc. I like it when TV shows have enough realism in it that it can serve as a vicarious way for me to experience a place I’ve never been to.
