I firmly believe we need to teach girls at a young age just how dangerous and harmful lot of men are. Not just physically but also to our mental health. I was warned about there being the occassional weird/creepy guy to look out for, but I never imagined or knew how many dangerous men were out there. No one prepared me for the amount of abuse I would experience at the hands of men. The sociopathic stalker who watched me for a long time, badgered me with personal information and touched me without my permission, who went on to humiliate me in front of people while I was emotionally at my lowest. The men who joined in to mock me while my mental health was deteriorating. This man is still out there abusing and stalking women and getting away with it. No one told me that when I’d get raped that no one would believe me, I’d have struggle on my own while my abuser continued to live as he had done nothing wrong.
