My (33F) one year anniversary with my boyfriend (35M) is coming up and he asked me for ideas for a gift. I have never been asked this by anyone for an anniversary, usually it would be Christmas or birthday, so I don’t know what to tell him. Also, since it is the one year, I don’t want to ask for anything too expensive. I had no idea what to tell him, so I said I would come up with something soon and let him know. I already had a gift in mind for him, and bought it before he asked me, so I also don’t know if he was looking for me to ask him that question (I bought him a watch fwiw). I know our plan is to go out to a nice restaurant and then we were going to go rock climbing at the place where we had our first date, so I was thinking maybe something rock climbing related. Since I did get him a watch, I am also wondering if it is too soon to ask for jewelry. Obviously I do not need anything super expensive, but I feel like I could wear a necklace or something on the less expensive end if that is appropriate for a one year gift. Wondering what others received for their one year anniversary (keeping in mind that we are both in our 30s), and if you have been asked this before.
