So I just saw a picture on Facebook of a young boy who appeared about 6-8 years old hugging Snow White at Disney world with the caption that the parents were worried he would be bored, but was having fun.
Tons of comments from mostly adult men were making sexual jokes about how it was because the actress playing Snow White was hot, the dad was probably proud/jealous, the placement of the boys hand on Snow’s body when he hugged her. It was so disgusting. Why take an innocent moment of a child and sexualize it? How do they not see that is very weird? Yes they’re mostly looking at the woman but they are still sexualizing the child’s experience it’s so disgusting…
The only one who said the comments were creepy was a woman who then got dog-piled for “womansplaining” what young boys feel and think. It was really gross. I always say that when people actually try and defend men and boys for being seen as sex crazed monsters or saying that young boys should not be preyed on by adult women, it’s usually women defending, then men perpetuating the problem saying gross comments or saying it’s OK for a minor to have sex with a grown woman if she’s attractive because HE would have enjoyed it. And yeah I know not all men think this but I almost NEVER see men in the comments saying this is not ok, only women.
Like, how do we even address this if the only ones who try to are women and the men in question just swat them away like pests and call them hysterical?
