The Colbert report was great and did a lot to shed light on 24 hr media cycles, Fox News, conservative hypocrisy, and more.
Today though the show simply wouldn’t work. The extreme positions the show would have to parody are barely even possible to make more extreme anymore. Even then they somehow would just come true later on down the line. The show would probably be more terrifying and less funny.
