    I guess it’s a fitting term

A concentration camp is a prison or other facility used for the internment of political prisoners or politically targeted demographics, such as members of national or minority ethnic groups, on the grounds of state security, or for exploitation or punishment

The reason why news is hesitant to use it is because of the association with Nazi death camps. In my experience that’s what people usually think of when they hear concentration camp.

That’s what they should be thinking of. If folks wait until they become extermination camps then it’s even more too late to start caring than it already is.

I was just saying that news that at least in theory often try to be objective shy away from using such terms because of their associations. Reminding people of how Nazis went from concentration camps to death camps is valuable but I’m not surprised if a news site doesn’t want to do that.
